Overview

Lumia Health develops wearable technology for people managing chronic symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, and brain fog. For its in-ear device, Spatial Dynamics was asked to design the charging base that would live permanently in the home. I led the design of a base station that moved deliberately away from clinical hardware, creating an object that could sit naturally on a nightstand while still feeling purposeful, intuitive, and premium.

Concepts

We explored a range of directions and landed on a soft, irregular pebble shape. It feels more like a river stone than a charger.

Final product

The base station shipped with Lumia 1, and the design carried forward to Lumia 2, their current smart earring product.
